MONEY TALKS Marianna Olszewski and her book, out today
Marianna Olszewski, author of Live it, Love it, Earn it!, is absolutely enamored with her finances—and she thinks you should be, too. In her new book, out today, the self-made millionaire (and part-time Miamian) shares her secrets for financial success.
How can we start loving our money? Get to know your money. Set a date and a time, light a candle, have a drink and pull out your bills and your spending plan.
How can we avoid having an abusive relationship with our finances? We’re not treating our money with respect when we go wild and compulsively spend. Treat money with respect and you’ll eliminate anxiety.
What if we fall off the money-wagon? You have to forgive yourself for overspending, and go straight to the tips! Put your credit card in a drawer; when you shop with friends, leave your purse at home; and enlist a shopping buddy to talk you out of purchases.
When it comes to money, can we really have it all? You can buy the Jimmy Choos and save for retirement by creating a spending plan, not a budget, which is like a strict diet that you’ll never stick with.
